 Art Smarts This class is designed to engage young artists in the creative process. We will study the works and methods of the great artists and experiment with their techniques. Students will create their own art forms using a variety of materials. They will also become very familiar with the masters and their masterpieces. You will be amazed at their abilities. They will impress everyone with their knowledge on your next museum outing. Make Your Own Class Is there a class that you’ve always wanted your child to take? This is your opportunity to make it. Choose from one of our classes, or create your own topic. Some examples: Kings and Queens, Mini-chefs, Math Fun, Young Journalist, Jewelry Making, Nature Studies, Little Paleontologist, etc. You provide three students, your child and two friends. You pick the time. We provide the professional to teach the class. Boyz: Shake, Rattle, and Roll Gym class with a difference: 30 minutes of high energy athletics and 30 minutes of high energy dancing steps and a cool-down. You're gonna love the music. Explore rhythm, gain flexibility and coordination and improve focus and concentration. Fun choreography, fun gym activities, fun games. Some activities will be outside weather permitting. Who said boyz can't dance?  Classical Kids Classical music, classical ballet, and classical art! This is a wonderful class providing classical ballet training while introducing both classical music and art. Our focus is safe and correct training, with close attention to technique and artistic quality. This class includes both art and dance education along with an intro to classical music and composers. Dance-Fitness Adults If you enjoy great music, you will love this class. Music is carefully selected and movements are easy to learn. This class is a combination of stretching, pilates, and a fun aerobic workout. You'll feel like a dancer! No talent necessary! Dancin' Round the Globe Would you like to have fun moving to music, learn the basics of dance, improve your flexibility, balance and grace and have fun doing it? This class offers both the dances and the music of different countries. Ethnic and folk dances are fun and a great way to stay fit. Come around the world with us as we explore the dance of countries like France, Africa, Russia, Spain, Cuba, India and the United States. We'll also take a look at the culture of each country. This class is for all levels and abilities. Give your child an appreciation for the world of dance and the world we live in.  Dance With Me Give your child the highest quality play and learning experience through discovery and movement for Mommy (or other caregiver) and Me. Little ones discover movement and expression while you network with other adults through a class that blends dance, music, storytelling, and lots of imagination. Students are introduced to class structure, age appropriate stretches, coordination exercises, ballet positions, and rhythm through a very safe and special experience with mommy! Daddies and other caregivers welcome. One caregiver per child, please. Breakfast With the Beatles: Good Day Sunshine! Start your day with a song in Magnolia Hill's Beatle Babies class. You'll walk down Pennylane with your little Day Tripper, and ride the Yellow Submarine with Maxwell and his Silver Hammer, because, All You Need is Love!! Coffee, Tea, and juice are included in the tuition. Continental breakfast items are available to purchase for baby and adult. Classics: For those of you who would like something other than the Beatles, we have Classics, music carefully selected from many adult genres and the best in kid's music, too. Our upbeat selections will leave you whistling. Dance and Tea With Me: This "tea for two" class is a great way to begin the day. It's everything you would want in a class for your lad or lady and you won't feel left out, because you get to come! Leave the studio energized and ready for a fun day! Coffee, Tea, and juice are included in the tuition. Continental breakfast items are available to purchase for baby and adult. Drawing Dynamics Drawing is a skill that can be developed through practice and proper training. Techniques will be presented along with encouragement. Students will experiment with fun stuff like colored pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, cray-pas, and pastel. Each class will also look at an art history masterpiece and master artist. Drawing Nature Discover a whole new way of seeing the world around you. In any season, any weather, and any place, a nature journal offers the opportunity to slow down, observe, reflect, and renew your connection to the living world. Capture the natural world in words and pictures. In Nature Journaling, we will learn simple techniques for starting and maintaining a journal that will enhance our appreciation of the natural world. No previous drawing experience required. Hip-hop Need we say more? Come break it down with us. We choose the best in child friendly music and teach you all of the moves. A high energy class, perfect for keeping fit.  Irish Dance Exploration Learn the basics of traditional Irish soft shoe dancing. This classes is for the less competitive dancer, seeking exercise or Irish cultural exploration. At Magnolia Hill, proper technique is emphasized for serious and casual students alike. It is our mission to provide both fun and challenging Irish dance training. Our students improve their fitness level, rhythm, control, and grace. For our younger students, friendships and fond memories, discipline and teamwork are our goals. For our adults, the music is relaxing while the workout is wonderful. So come listen to the Celtic music and wear a little green. Smile because you're Irish, if only for the moment. Wet Paint! A way cool art class that has kids painting on some very interesting surfaces. We will paint on items made of canvas and cloth. Paint an artist canvas, a wall hanging, sneakers, canvas paper, and canvas board, hats, tote bags, and other fun stuff. We will also learn about some famous guys and girls from the world of art like Misters Van Gogh, Warhol and Picasso, or Misses Cassatt or O’Keefe. We’ll see their works and explore their styles. Dress for a mess. No prior art training necessary! There is a materials fee for this class.  Mini-Monets Too young for art history? No way! You will be amazed with your child's knowledge of famous artists and creative processes and how much fun they have learning! Each week, they will create an original project that is inspired by a well-known artist or artistic style. What a fun way to get ahead in the knowledge of art, all before first grade! Musical Babies: A Parent and Me Class Musical Babies and Twinkle Toddlers will explore songs, books, rhythm, games and instruments through music! We will demonstrate developmentally appropriate activities that incorporate music, movement and instrument play. We will play instruments such as shakers, the triangle, and drum. Kids learn traditional nursery rhymes, listen to classical music and sing fun modern songs. This class is designed to incorporate music and developmental concepts in a playful environment. Musical research suggests that through musical vocalizations, rhythm, rhyme and song a child will have improved vocabulary and language skills. The ability to communicate builds higher self-esteem and helps children to become better readers. Watch as your child interacts with other young children! Petite Picassos: A Parent and Me Class Keep the mess out of your house and let your budding little artist explore his or her creativity using a variety of baby-safe art materials. Our goal in all art experiences is not the end product but the process of creating. Parents and children should dress for a mess. This class Includes a circle time with a story or song or two. Kids, be sure to bring your mom, dad, or grandparent so they can watch your artistic genius blossom and keep you from eating the supplies.  Fairytale Ballet Magnolia kids will explore the world of ballet and experience the joy of movement. Using the beautiful stories of the ballet world along with fun props like tutus, capes, crowns and wands, children will learn ballet fundamentals. Ballet vocabulary, creative expression, balance, coordination and ballet technique will be taught in a fun way. Kids master dance skills and improve their confidence as they move to wonderful music. So, come join the fun and sprinkle a little magic! Steppin' Out Kids, learn to dance while enjoying both classic and contemporary show tunes. Expand your dance vocabulary, improve your technique, and develop your performance skills! This class is high-energy, fun-spirited, and a terrific work-out! STEPPIN' OUT features warm-ups, floor work, and musical theatre repertory. All levels of ability, including beginners! Wouldn't you like your child to be just as familiar with Cats, Les Mis, and Hair, as he is with the Lion King, Peter Pan and Mary Poppins? So, turn on the stage lights and get ready!  Enchanted Studio Long ago and faraway in the land of stories… Come join us as we go on a magical adventure into a classic book that is sure to capture your child’s interest. We’ll step through the looking glass and into the world of fairytales with an exciting art project fitting our theme of the week.

After School Club Are you tired of mediocre child care? You'll want your kids at Magnolia Hill after school. We have some fun, educational themes and never a dull moment. Children in this program are offered creative activities rather than babysitting. We also allow time for homework and can provide homework help at the parent's request. Tutoring available at an extra fee. Special rates are offered when after school club is combined with a class offered during club time. Monday through Wednesday are on our schedule. If you are interested in adding Thursday or Friday, please speak to the director. The Classics: If you would you like your child to recognize great art and great music, then this is the club to choose. Art and music projects, literature, and other activities are included. Woodland Theme: If you would like your child to learn about woodland habitats, and if your child is fascinated with gnomes, elves or fairies, then this is the club to choose. Art, music, literature, and nature projects abound in this club. The study of great works of art will include works with the woodland theme. Kids love meeting in our elf and fairy hide-outs. Ancient Egypt: If you would like to enhance you child's grasp of history and knowledge of Ancient Egypt, then this is the club to choose. We'll use art and literature to explore this ancient civilization. Homeschool Classes We will provide the space for your home school group. Come take a class with us!
